A Western City in Żory

By spring 2011, a Western City will be created in Żory, a Silensian town with a population of 60.000. The site, inspired by the 19th century American Wild West, will include a hotel, as well as restaurants and entertainment and recreation facilities. The costs of this enterprise, PLN 21.000.000, will be partially covered with EU funds.

Scientists build the first Polish satellite

The Polish government plans to spend 14.2 million zlotys (about 3.3 million euros) for the first Polish satellite - informs a daily newspaper “Polska”. It is expected to be put into orbit in 2011, and its mission is to observe stars brighter than the Sun.
