Polish sport in mourning
Nearly all sport events in the country have been cancelled after the tragic plane crash in Smoleńsk in which President Lech Kaczyński was killed. The accident also claimed the life of Piotr Nurkowski, the president of the Polish Olympic Committee.

Foreign minister contacted the brother of the president
“I’ve got terrible news. There has been a tragic accident. It is supposed that no one survived” – these words told the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Jarosław Kaczyński. Radosław Sikorski in a interview for the TOK FM radio station recalled first moments after he had been told about the accident in Smolensk.
