Polish scientist has discovered substance curing virus

Polish scientist – Jolanta Solecka has discovered unknown substance with antibiotic properties. The European Commission gave 6 million zloty (1.5 million euro) for needed tests, what may mean that this discovery is very important for science.

First victim of H1N1 virus in Poland

Swine flu has claimed its new victim in Poland, after a 37-year-old man died of respiratory complications, a medical official said.

Warmia and Mazury will help Ukraine

Respirators, medical tests which detect influenza and special face masks will be sent to Ukraine (Rivne Oblast) by the authorities of warmińsko-mazueskie voivodship. Also Elbląg decided to help Ukrainian side so there will be sent 15 thousand face masks to Ternopol. The transport will be sent next week.

Ukrainian president asked Poland for help

Ukrainian president – Victor Yushchenko asked Poland and many other nations for help because of A/H1N1 virus which killed 55 people. The epidemic of dangerous type of flu attacked Western part of Ukraine.
