Easter is an unusual time of the year. The Catholic Church deems it the most important holiday of the year. Most Polish people spend these days taking part in divine services and in family gatherings. There are many customs related to Easter, many of which are cultivated even today, as the custom of pouring water on others on Easter Monday (called in Poland “Śmigus-dyngus”).
