A Pole nominated for the Norwegian award

Agnieszka Grochowska has been nominated for the film Kanon Award in the best actress category. She has been appreciated for the role in the Norwegian film “Upperdog”, directed by Sara Johnsen – the Polish Filmmakers Association informed.

Poles without an Oscar

Nominated in 9 categories “Avatar” got only 3 statuettes from the American Movie Academy. And not in the most important categories, because the Oscar for directing and the best picture was given to the creators of the film about the war in Iraq “Hurt Locker”. Our “Rabbit à la Berlin” hasn’t got an award.

Jerzy Turek died

He was one of the most popular Polish actors. Everybody remembered him mainly as a singing to a wardrobe trainer Wacław Jarząbek from "Miś" by Stanisław Bareja. For many years he has been impersonating the character of the postman in "Złotopolscy". In Warsaw died a prominent actor Jerzy Turek. He was 76.

“Necrobusiness” tells the story about “corpse hunters”. The film was shot by Swedish crew of BBC and today it can be seen on You Tube.

Nowe Horyzonty Festival starts its tour via Poland. In January and February there will be organized many interesting film shows. One week shows will appear in 16 biggest Polish cities, what shoul attract many fans of independent cinema, as it was last year in Wrocław.
