China and Poland celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations

On 7th October 1949 diplomatic ties between the People's Republic of China and Poland were established. Two then Communist driven states decided to cooperate with each other.

Valuable find in a bottle

Very valuable document from 1939 has been found in a small village Kurozwęki. It is believed that it is an act of capitulation of the Modlin Fortress.

Archaeologists dug up a bottle with wishes

The bottle was found 1.5 m underground in a garden at Kościeleccy Square 6 in Bydgoszcz. There were 20 letters in the bottle from oranżada (traditional Polish juice). As it turned out, all letters contained many wishes, promises and resolutions of young children.

The Warsaw Uprising collapsed 65 years ago

October 2nd 1944 is a date of collapsing of The Warsaw Uprising. That day two leaders of the uprising and soldiers of Home Army (Polish resistance organisation during World War II) – colonel Kazimierz Iranek-Osmecki “Jarecki” and colonel Zygmunt Dobrowolski “Zyndram” signed the act of capitulation.

Marek Edelman is dead

Marek Edelman who was the last living leader of the uprising in Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw died on Friday in his house in Warsaw. Edaelam was a soldier during World War II (The Warsaw Uprising), well known cardiologist and oppositionist in communist Poland.
