Jozef Szajna died
Jozef Szajna, an outstanding stage designer, screenwriter, theatre theoretician, painter and graphic artist, died. He was 86. Prof. Jozef Szajna was born in 1922 in Rzeszow. He was a prisoner of KL Auschwitz and Buchenwald, these events had a huge impact on his work.

Historical staging "Monastery Besieged" in Lubiąż
Cistercian Eko-museum announced historical staging " Monastery Besieged" at After-Cistercian Palace and Monastery Complex in Lubiąż in Lower Silesia between Legnica and Wroclaw, which will be held on 21th June 2008. Knights Fraternity from all over Poland will be reconstructing history of the early XV century, in the costumes from the times of Battle of Grunwald, and using siege techniques of those days. On Saturday, they will be storming a monastery walls for few hours.

Yesterday the Warsaw councillors outvoted a resolution christening the Dramatic Theatre with the name of Gustaw Holoubek. The decision was unanimous.
