Agricultural Social Insurance Fund may go bankrupt
Agricultural Social Insurance Fund may go bankrupt because the court ordered to pay retirement pensions due to two farmers - 3 thousand Euro only for one year. Now in the line may stand other people - more than 50 thousand. It can be the beginning of recovering benefits which they deserve for the last 18 years. And lost trials will push the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund on the edge of bankruptcy.
There is guilty a regulation according to which the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund was giving to farmers, who left themselves more than one hectare of arable land, only half of the retirement.
"Paying half pensions to the farmers having land has been practicing for 18 years since the Inurance Fund was actually created. Taking into consideration the court's verdict it is obvious that the farmers have quite a lot to fight for", said Zbigniew Kuźmiuk, euro-deputy and a member of Piast Political Party. "If we add to the eventual awarded compensations the interests accumulated for years then the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund and at the same time the Treasury will be pressed to the wall", said Kuźmiuk. "Agricultural Social Insurance Fund would probably go bankruptcy".
