Dariusz Michalczewski is threatened with 3 years of imprisonment
The former world champion is threatened with three years of imprisonment. Dariusz Michalczewski was accused of battery. He does not plead guilty.
According to Tomasz Landowski, deputy prosecutor in Sopot, there were two more men, apart from Michalczewski, who faced exactly the same charges. These are Michał B. and Tomasz W. Landowski said that Michalczewski did not plead guilty. “He presented his own tentative account of events according to which he is innocent.” The brawl took place in July last year in Sopot in front of a restaurant at Bohaterow Monte Casion street. According to the prosecutor it was “an ordinary drunken fight” during which, luckily, no one was hurt.
The prosecutor in Sopot decided to commence legal proceedings having watched a movie recorded by a witness, and questioned the other witnesses including the police officers taking part in the action.
