Polish Queen Of the Winter

Justyna Kowalczyk won her last race in Falun and got Crystal Globe in general classification in 2008/09 season.

Kowalczyk knocked out other racers. Her biggest opponent Petra Majdic finished far far away behind Polish star. It is first ever World Cup for Polish ski racer in the history. Kowalczyk is the biggest star of winter sports at the moment. Only Adam Małysz was able to win the World Cup for Poland.

Female racers were contenting with Kowalczyk for first place in Falun. It was 10 kilometers race. Contestants saved their time advance from three last races. Kowalczyk was 48 seconds ahead of other sportswomen. Fortunately nobody was able to win with Kowalczyk who reached the final line alone.

The time of Polish star was 27:48.6. Her biggest rival – Petra Majdic was on 12th position and lost 1:29.3 seconds.

“We were very concentrated and motivated today. We want to celebrate our success. All I want right know is rest! Next season must be as good as this one” – said Polish champion.

Kowalczyk was given her Cristal Globe by the King of Sweden – Carl Gustaw XVI. Many famous people from Poland wanted to congratulate Kowalczyk. Even Polish president Kaczyński called Kowalczyk and sent his privet congratulations.
