Łukasz Kubot wasted a historic chance
Łukasz Kubut, who is in form of his life wasted an opportunity to win a tournament in Belgrade. He lost the final against Novak Djoković despite the fact he was winning 5:3 in the second set.
Our player did not start well. He was nervous and he made lots of mistakes. He lost his first serve and gave control to Djoković. The Serbian player, who played in much bigger finals before, used a local crowd to heat up his game. He won the first set 6:3.
Serbian crowd was extremely happy and started to talk how many minutes their player will need to finish off an easy game. They were really stunned when Kubot started second set wit a big hit. He won 3 straight games and then was winning 5:2. However Novak Djoković proved that he is one of the best players in the world. He was able to come back and win the second set 7:6 finishing a whole game with tears in his eyes. He won a trophy in front of his home crowd and family.
After a game Djokovic admitted that he did not think that Łukasz Kubot would make him so much trouble and that he was very happy to win in a place that is special for him personally
