National Memory Institute promotes Poland in YouTube
Last month European Commission presented a spot that told a story of Communism fall in Europe. However it was criticized in Poland as it did not show a role that Poland and "Solidarność" played in this process.
The whole spot concentrates on fall of Berlin wall. Poland is just shown for couple of seconds with protests that had taken place in... 1993. After a hefty criticism in Poland "Solidarność" was added to this spot.
"Our internet initiatives are addressed to youth that seeks short and factual information. This time we have decided to remind about events that ended Communism in Europe" - said spokesperson for National Memory Institute (IPN) Andrzej Arseniuk. He adds that this film was made in chronological way and it does not exclude anyone, but emphasizes the true role of "Solidarność" movement.
"We did not forget about other countries that helped to make changes. We remind about Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria and a fall of Berlin wall that is the last episode of our story" - Arseniuk emphasize.
