Robert Kubica managed to squeeze into a third qualifying session today in Istanbul, but he had the worst time from all remaining drivers during that session.

A double diffuser installed in both BMW cars seemed to work well as both Nick Heitfeld and Robert Kubica improved their positions comparing to last two races. However 10th and 11th results are still far from what was expected at the beginning of the season.

Robert Kubica asked about the car said that it had been improved significantly and gives hope to finally earn some points in constructor’s and driver’s championship. However he added that probably BMW will be not able to win this season.

It shows that BMW does not have the same resources, skills and experience as Ferrari, which had same problems at the beginning of the season, but was able to redevelop a car in such a way that allows them to compete with Brawns and Red Bulls.

Qualifying session was won by Sebastian Vettel form Red Bull Racing. He was followed by Brawn GP duo: Jenson Button and Rubens Barichello.
