Ornithologist warn that crows can be aggressive lately. It is not only due to their breeding season. Ten years after moving to city areas, birds start to show humans who really rules in those places. First attacks are reported.

Ten years ago crows were a seldom sight in cities. Now it has changed. They moved to urban areas and they defend their nests, where eggs were laid. “They won’t hurt you, but they will try to scare you off to a safe distance from their breeding places” – says Antek Marczewski from Polsih Bird Preservation Society.

“I just wanted to throw my rubbish out, when suddenly I was attacked by a bird. Another one sat down on a head of other man and started to peck his head. I was terrified so I dropped my rubbish and started to run home screaming like mad – confess Mr Tom from Warsaw to daily “Dziennik”.

Crow chicks have left their nests, but they are still around and they need to be fed by their parents regularly. So they can sit somewhere in bushes and adult crows will do everything to try to scare off unaware humans – Marczewski explains.
