Poland will not be given mine resistant cars called MRAP by the USA. US Army just allowed Polish soldiers to extend the lease of 30 cars they have used until now.

This information was given by Bogdan Klich, Polish Defense Minister after a meeting with his US counterpart Robert Gates. Those vehicles have ensured safety of Polish troops in Afghanistan.
" Americans have they own needs at the moment and additional cars transported to Afghanistan will be used by US Army. We will have to think about a way to improve our technical potential" - reported Klich after the meeting.

However he added that Poland has greatly benefited from this lease anyway. "You do not criticize gifts. We use those vehicles since last August and we haven't paid a cent for it. The truth is that American lease allowed us to have none soldiers killed since last August" - commented Klich.

As Polish soldiers will get no additional MRAP's they will have to use Polsih "Wolverine" vehicles. 13 new Wolverines will be transported to Afghanistan by the end of this month.
