Every old and infirm Pole will become help from the country.

Civic Platform (PO) plans to pass yet another tax, this time for the infirmity insurance. It will guarantee old and lonely people professional help in old people homes.

The funds will come from this new tax – a new, additional and obligatory contribution to a care fund that will manage funds for old people care. This system will also include those, who are old now, even though they did not pay an additional tax.

Every elderly person will receive a voucher that will be valid for getting a nurse, a place in elderly people home or getting a food delivered. This should be enough for basic care. If someone has higher expectations, he will have to pay additionally with his own money. Voucher money will be also given to family members of a beneficiary that did not manage to spend it before death.

An old age care insurance system is used in Germany, Great Britain and Austria for many years now. Experts alarm that introduction of such system is necessary.
