Polish woman committed a suicide in US prison?

Polish Embassy in Washington confirmed that a Polish citizen that previously stayed in USA for three years has lost her life in prison in Alabama.

Local media reported that a 31 years old Monika R.-W. committed a suicide last Thursday in a Orange Beach Prison after she was detained for a minor crime. According to al.com she used her prison clothes to hang herself. She was found by the guard who came to interrogate her.

Embassy spokesperson PaweÅ‚ Kotowski said that “a Polish citizen death is a fact”. He added that she lived in USA for 3 years and was a Green card holder with a right to stay in USA.

He confirmed that the drunken woman was detained for a deed that “exceeded law noms” and that she died in a cell. He emphasized that he could disclose no further details or confirm that she committed a suicide.
