Danuta Huebner has resigned EU Commissioner post

Danuta Huebner has resigned from the post of EU Commissioner of regional politics; it was sent to Speaker of Sejm Bronisław Komorowski.
Huebner who was elected as Civic Platform (PO) representative to European Parliament had to choose between MP seat and Commissioner post. She announced on Tuesday that she decided to become a European MP.
Danuta Huebner was responsible for regional funds since November 2004.
Donald Tusk, a Prime Minister of Poland, said on Wednesday that he was ready to talk to Jose Manuel Barroso about a new candidate to finish her cadency.
In theory European Commission term of office finishes in Autumn, but Lisbon Treaty comes into power in January so the election of new Commission can be postponed until then.
