Masuria district on second place
The poll to choose Seven New Wonders of the World will be finished in one month. We can be proud due to Masuria Lakes District that is on second place. Our magnificent region competes in “landscapes and postglacial formations” category.
“We are very happy that Masuria Lakes District took so good position. It has been going up since weeks” – said Jacek Protas who is a marshal of wramińsko-mazurskie district and chairman of the Committee Supporting Masuria Lakes District in the contest.
“We were on 14th, 12th, 8th, 5th nad 3rd position. Today we take second place, and if we are lucky we may go through to the final of the contest” – added Protas.
The voting is possible till 7th July 2009. After this date, 11 candidates from 7 categories will go thorough to the semi-final. The Great Jury will choose 21 finalists (3 from each category) who will try to win the contest. New Seven Wonders of the World will be chosen in 2011.
