The new "monument war" between Ukraine and Poland can be expected. Unknown offenders destroyed an illegal monument of Ukrainian Uprising Army. As a revenge Ukrainians threaten to close down Polish Eaglet Graveyard in Lvov and to take away a monument of murdered Poles in Huta Pienicka.

This conflict is not "official" - no government related people are present in this conflict. Local nationalist parties officials, local authorities and hooligans are very active though. However the threats are quite serious: The graveyard of Lvov Eaglets is hated by Ukrainian nationalists, as it reminds about Polish heroic defense of Lvov against Ukrainians, who tired to incorporate Lvov to their newly formed country.

The Local Lvov Area Council demanded a recheck of "all anti Ukrainian or foreign military monuments". "We do not want to destroy any monuments, but it is possible that we will eliminate anti Ukrainian symbols, such as Szczerbiec sword (a sword that was used in XI century by one of Polish kings that invaded territories of modern Ukraine) that is placed at the Lvov Eaglets Graveyard - said a member of Ukrainian nationalist party Swoboda Oleh PaƄkewycz.
