Cultural events in Little Poland
27 June – 5 July
Cracow, 19th Jewish Culture Festival. It is one of the most important events of this kind in the world. This year the program includes synagogue music, Jewish folk music, projection of Jewish film, exhibitions, performances and discussions about Jewish culture.
1 July – 31 August
Zakopane, Orange Summer Ciemna. Zakopane and Sopot, two most popular holiday resorts at both ends of Poland, will provide tourists with the choice of best films form a last decade. Two summer open air cinemas will be opened in both cities. They will show the same films in the same time parallel in both holiday resorts. The entrance to the cinema is free of charge.
5 – 31 July
Cracow, XIV Summer Jazz Festival in Piwnica pod Baranami (Aries Cellar). Around 50 different concerts and 200 musiscians from Poland and other countries including Joe Lovano, NDR Big Band, Joao Bosco, Nils Landgren.
22 – 26 July
Cracow, 11th Festival of Folk Music. The most interesting groups of ethno music will perform during this festival. Last year festival stars included Gheorghe Zamfir (Romania) and Gypsy Queens & Kings. This year the line-up should be even better.
