Couple dozen of photos taken from air that document bomb craters, destroyed roads, bridges and houses can be seen at newly opened exhibition called Wrocław 1947 - air photographs". Display boards with photos were placed at Wrocław's beautiful Main Square.

Gathered photographs show nearly the entire city in 1947. The most important buildings are highlighted, what together with mini maps of modern Wrocław attached to each photo, allow visitors to associate those pictures with known places.

Dr hab. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk form National Memory Institute (IPN) told in his interview for Polish Press Agency that those photographs belong to the Central Army Archive. He added also that they were just a tiny part of the whole documentation of war damage in Poland.
