Białowieża, a small settlement located at the edge of Bialowieski National Park, a unique region of Poland that is featured at the UNESCO list. The most interesting places in Białowieża itself is a Park Palace, Orthodox Church of Nicola the Miracle-worker and a Nature Museum. Thanks to a huge number of tourists for Poland and abroad that visit the forest the village has a very good tourist infrastructure.

The Białowieski Forest that surrounds the settlement covrs the area of 105km2, of which 4 km2 are under a strict protection. This is a kingdom of wolfs, wisents, boars, deer and lynxes. They live among astonishing 500 years old oaks.

The main attraction of Białowieża itself is a Palace Park, where over 90 different types of trees and bushes are gathered. In a Nature Museum one can learn a great deal about plants and animals that live in the forest. Expositions include many exhibits from hunting, geology, ethnography and geography areas. It is also worth going to the tower that offers a marvelous view of Białowieża and the forest.

Some tourist that are interested in sacral architecture will find a Orthodox Church and a neogothic Church from the beginning of XXth century also interesting.
