VIIth Tatra Twigs
“Procession of Harnaś” what means a colourful parade coming through Krupówki to the place where the ringleader of highland robbers was sentenced, will start the summer events in Zakopane. It is called Tatra Twigs.
Two summer months in Podhale will be diversified by a cycle of events connected with Polish (especially highland) culture – said Ewa Czamańśka from Tatra Agency of Development and Culture.
On Sunday there will play – Kroke music band from Cracow. They will give their concert near Gubałówka Mountain. This well known music group has recorded albums with Nigel Kennedy or Edyta Geppert. What is more they are famous for composing a soundtrack to “Schildler’s List” by Steven Spielberg.
7th Tatra Twigs will be attractive because of eighteen events prepared by organizers, like: contest for the most beautiful highland woman or Harnaś 2009, the day of smoked ewe’s milk cheese made in Tatra Mountains or the day of trout.
Harnaś (Janosik) was a legendary ringleader of highland robbers who was famous for robbing rich people and giving stolen money to pour highlanders. The outlaw was hiding in Tatra Mountains both in Poland and Slovakia.
