Jarocin festival 2009: Golden Chameleon for Holden Avenue
Holden Avenue from Wroclaw was awarded Golden Chameleon, which is the most important prize for most promising music group.
The prize of jury went to Ratofobia from Warsaw. “Musicians from this band surprised us by their original performance. They showed introduction, main part and ending what was very interesting. It was like a kind of story told by the group” – said Piotr Stelmach, who was a member of jury.
Also other music bands were awarded by jury. Plug&Play from Lublin got their price for original and very energetic performing their song while The Washing Machine from Lodz was awarded for the best summer holiday hit.
All awarded bands will be invited to Polish Public Radio in order to give their concerts. The bes music group was also given 3 thousand zloty (700 euro).
According to vice-mayor of Jarocin – Robert Każmierczak, there were 8 thousand young people who decided to take part in the festival which ended on Sunday. The event was very successful because of fantastic performance of well known international music stars like: Editors and Bad Brains. Also Polish stars sent the crowd into a state of ecstasy. The most interesting concert gave Kazik na Żywo, re-established music group of controversial Polish artist Kazik Staszewski.
