A1 motorway ready for Euro 2012
The Ministry of Infrastructure has announced that A1 motorway would be ready till 2012, what means till the beginning of The European Football Championship Tournament.
The Ministry will put building of last part of A1 motorway out to public tender. It is a last part of the motorway in lodzkie voivodship. The first segment (21 kilometres) will connect Stryków and Piątek ( the middle of Poland). The other one will connect Piątek with Kotliska near Kutno (9 kilometres).
The Ministry thinks that roadwork will be started in March 2010. “Only one segment, form Częstochowa to Pyrzowice may not be finished till the tournament. We will connect A1 with ‘gierkówka’ ( motorway toward Warsaw) what may solve our problems. I think that A1 motorway to Gdańsk may even be finished before summer 2012” – said Marcin Barański from The Ministry of Infrastructure.
