Premiere of Polish-American Production
Premiere of American TV channel Hallmark production, co-financed by Polish Film Art Institute and Ministry of Culture, titled "Dzieci Ireny Sendlerowej" (Children of Irena Sendler) is going to be one of most important points of Solidarity of Arts Festival.
The premiere is planned for today in Gdańsk's cinema "Neptun". This event is going to be very interesting as celebrates such as director John Kent Harrison, music composer Jan A.P Kaczmarek as well as actors including Anna Paquin (she plays Irena Sendler), Marcia Gay Harden ( mother of Sendler), Danuta Stenka and Maja Ostaszewska are going to attend.
The screenplay is an adaptation of Anna Mieszowska book called "Matka dzieci Holocaustu. Historia Ireny Sendlerowej" (Mother of Holocaust children. Story of Irena Sendler).
The film starts in 1941 in Warsaw's ghetto and ends in 1944 when tortured Sendler is taken away from bribed Gestapo. This way the common story of uncommon person, who saved many lives was built.
