Poland – North Ireland 1-1
Polish football team has drawn against North Ireland during the qualification game in Chorzów. It means that Poland is in trouble and it could be difficult to qualify to the championship tournament in Republic of South Africa.
Dutch coach of Polish team – Leo Benhekker and all supporters were very optimistic before the game. We defeated Greece 2-0 after a good game, so everyone thought that North Ireland would not be too strong for Polish stars. Benhakker had almost every player he wanted (besides injured Marcin Wasilewski). Poland started with only one striker what could have been a huge mistake.
Polish squad: Boruc – Golański, Dudka, Żewłakow, Krzynówek – M. Lewandowski, Murawski, Obraniak, Błaszczykowski, Roger – Brożek.
In the first half Poland had no idea how to beat Mike Taylor, but Irish striker Kyle Lafferty found the way to beat Artur Boruc. Polish fans started being confused. Benhakker substituted poor Murawski and Robert Lewandowski appeared on a pitch. After this substitute Polish team started attacking what was successful way to score one and only goal. Mariusz Lewandowski scored and that was all what Poland could do. It is not the end because Poland may qualify to next year World Cup but we must be lucky and win all other games.
