Kinga Baranowska wants to climb on the eight-thousander
34 years old Kinga Baranowska is going to climb on Shisha Pangma (8027 metres over sea level) in Tibet. If everything goes according to her plan, it will be seventh eight-thousander for young female Pole. The mountain climber left Warsaw yesterday.
Baranowska wants to climb through northern face of the mountain and pitch the camp at 5600 metres. Fortunately she will not be alone, because Australian climber – Andrew Lockiem decided to climb with Polish mountain climber.
It will be last of eight-thousanders for the Australian. They are believed to reach their camp within one week. If the weather is ok they will try to reach the peak in the end of August. Baranowski will be second Polish female mountain climber on the top of on Shisha Pangma. The first one was one of the most famous climbers in Polish history – Wanda Rutkiewicz who climbed on this mountain in 1987.
