Global day of tourism
On 27th September (Sunday) a global day of tourism will be celebrated. This year's 30th edition has a motto: "Celebrating diversity".
Global day of tourism is celebrated form 1979. This year main events will take place in Ghana, but there are also many regional initiatives. The purpose of this day is to show, how tourism help different cultures to explore and understand each other. The other aim of those meetings is to introduce people with tourism as a social, economic and political factor that tends to promote higher life standards.
From Polish celebrations it is advised to choose ferry journey form Poland to Sweden. This trip allows to "celebrate diversity" in all meanings of that words - starting with culinary feast, going through diverse events on the deck, finishing with exploration of northern Poland and southern Sweden.
Polish tourists are going to visit Karlskrone, Kalmar, Oland or learn runic signs. Swedish tourists will visit Gdańsk and Malbork. This trip is going to allow both sides to get acquainted with culture, tradition and history of a neighbor across the sea.
