New coach of Polish football team
After sacking Leo Benhakker, when Poland lost a game against Slovenia 3:0 in a very bad style, Grzegorz Lato, a Head of Polish Football Association, announced today that Stefan Majewski will be a new coach for the reminder of qualifiers to World Cup 2010.
- It is a temporary solution. We will have more time to talk to candidates, take a better look of their vision of our national team. There are many candidates: Smuda, Skorża, Kasperczak, Majewski or Janas - Lato said.
According to media sources Franiszek Smuda is the hot favorite to get the job, as he has the biggest supporters back up.
Majewski is now Polish Under 23 team coach. He has no mayor successes as a manager (he only won Polish Cup 9 years ago). He was a coach of Polonia Warszawa, Amika Wronki, Cracovia Kraków and 1.FC Kaiserslautern second team.
