National Stadium will cost 147 million Euros more
Euro 2012 starts in 999 days, but organization cost are getting higher and higher. Warsaw's National Stadium, where opening game of the tournament is going to be played, will cost 400 million Euro, instead of predicted 253.
New quote was announced to MP's in a very discrete way, avoiding public opinion. Sport Commission of Polish Sejm was informed about the new price. "The Ministry representative could not tell why the price is so high. For this reason I am going to send MP question to Minister Drzewiecki" - said leftist MP Tomasz Grabowski.
Minister Drzewiecki asked by the press about the price increase answered: "The stadium costs exactly the amount it should cost. All calculations are based on facts". He also tried to blame his predecessor form Law and Justice (PiS): “The quote of 253 million was taken out of nowhere. At that point of time the localization and capacity of the stadium were unknown. Under those circumstances the predicted budget could be 200 million or 500 million and both would have been realistic".
