Brussels sees Polish economy in bright colors
Polish GDP will grow by 1 per cent in 2009 - says the new prognosis of European Commission. It is worth mentioning that still in May EC predicted 1,4 per cent fall of GDP.
"Poland is probably the only county in the European Union that has a positive economic growth"- can be read in European Commission analysis that emphasizes resistance of Polish economy towards the crisis.
The change of prognosis for Poland is explained with "better than expected" results for first half of 2009. The first quarter showed GDP growth of 0.3 and 0.5 per cent respectably. It the third quarter it is estimated to be 0.1 per cent and the last quarter of the year shall see stagnation at 0 per cent.
However the prognosis has also a negative side, as our budget deficit is predicted to be 3.8 per cent instead of 3.4.
