Prime Minister Donald Tusk was authorized by the President Lech Kaczyński to act as his proxy during order giving ceremony organized for Polish Golden Volleyball Team.

Head of Presidential Office Władysław Stasiak informed that the President is very sorry that he will be unable to award orders personally, but he was a very busy man and could not adjust his schedule this time to fit the ceremony into it.

Our team, which won the final of European Championship against France in Izmir, Turkey on Sunday, has come back to Poland yesterday. The team that has won first ever historic gold was welcomed by a large crowd at the Parade Square in Warsaw. After that ceremony they were to visit President, but this part of the program was postponed. Official reason given to the press was the fatigue of players.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk will meet the team for breakfast tomorrow with Sport Minister Mirosław Drzewiecki. They will be given national orders and awards for people with "great service for sport".
