Unusual trip to the bottom of the North Sea
After seven month of preparation, Polish divers reached to the shipwreck of “Piłsudzki”. The ship was one of most modern transatlantic liners and proud of pre-war Poland. It sank 70 years ago under unexplained circumstances.
Polish group of divers called “Whale” is the first ever unit which reached the wreck of “Piłsudzki”. They were preparing for last seven months. The wreck is lying 30 meters in depth, 50 kilometres from west cost of Great Britain. “It is really big. It is not possible to see and explore the wreck during one dive” – said Sławomir Kruzolek from the diving club “Whale”.
The ship sank 70 years ago with 200 people on board. The ship wanted to reach Cape Town in Republic of South Africa and New Zealand, passing Great Britain and a minefield. At 5.36 two horrible explosions was heard. After few minutes the ship disappeared under water.
