Polish volleyball team qualifies to quarterfinals
Women Polish volleyball team followed the example of men’s team and won two opening games of European Championship’s Tournament. Thanks to that they qualified to the next round with one game in hand.
It did not look good yesterday, when our girls won first two sets against Spain and then thought that the victory is going to come to them itself. They lost two next sets easily and everything was decided in a tie-break. The thrilling 5th set was won by them and they could celebrate the victory. However supporters were a little bit worried, because Spain is considered to be the worst team in our group.
Today’s game against higher ranked Croatia looked a little bit different. Polish players were concentrated from the very beginning and won the game easily 3:0, not giving even any hope to their opponents of winning a single set.
However the real challenge awaits tomorrow, when we play the Netherlands that are considered to be one of medal contenders. If we win that game we are going to be one of the favourites to the title as well.
