National Museum in Cracow reopens the house of our famous painter. This is the oldest biographic museum in Poland.

"Matejko: Reativation" - this is the title of a happening connected with reopening of a house located at 41 Florianska Street. It was the first complex renovation of this house. The house was turned into a museum just couple of years after Matejko's death in XIXth century.

The interior of the house has the same bourgeois spirit as two centuries ago and is packed with multimedia and modern art. The museum is full of unique items, such as: original Matejko's cigar, natural size stuffed hors, that was used for his painting. Matejko lived in this house for his entire life - as a kid, later with his wife Teodora and four kids. Finally he died there on 1st November 1893.
