Polish wines are back to shops
After couple dozen years that Polish wine was absent from shops, it comes back in glory. It is also served in Polish restaurants and hotels and its quality is no worse than of foreign ones.
From couple hundred vineyards in Poland only four got governmental permission to produce alcohol. Other could not fulfill requirements or got sick and tired of long and complicated administrative procedures.
Vineyard Jaworek from Lower Silesia was the first to produce Polish wine. More than 700 of whit Fenix wine and rose Pinot Noir have been distributed to shops in Warsaw, Cracow, and Łódź. Dry Fenix that was produced in 1160 bottles is served among others in Courtyard by Mariott Warsaw Airport Hotel that was the first one to introduce Polish wine to its menu.
Fenix was given a bronze medal during wine fairs in Slovak Trenczin. Also Pinot Grigio and Riseling were produced.
The vineyard was established in 2001 by the couple - Ewa and Lech Jaworek. It has an area of 23 ha and is the largest in Poland.
