Warsaw - attractive for business
Warsaw is becoming increasingly more popular for business meetings. It has the same very good reputation as Australian Melbourne and Canadian Toronto.
According to International Congress & Convention Association ranking for years 1998-2207 Warsaw shares 40th position in the world along Toronto and Melbourne in number of business meetings organized by international business associations.
47 per cent of those meetings were fairs, 31 per cent conferences and 19 per cent corporate meetings. The largest group of these were medical meetings that are estimated to be 50 per cent of all meetings held in Warsaw. In total 1 million 174 thousand people participated in years 1998-2007 in those business events.
Most events organized in 2008 were short. 3.9 thousand events were shorter than 3 days, 149 lasted form 4 to 10 days and only 13 were longer than 11 days.
According to 2009 statistics Warsaw has 66 hotels (11 - 5 star, 8 - 4 star, 20 - 3 star). Conference halls are located in 73 buildings. The conference area in total is roughly 104 thousand square meters.
