The best directors in Wrocław
Next Saturday will be very interesting for all enthusiasts of theatre, because of an international event called “The Dialogue Festival” with performances of Luka Parceval and Christopher Marthaler.
The event which takes place on 10th till 17th October attracts the audience with fantastic performances like: “Troilus and Cressida” by William Shakespeare, directed by Luka Perceval from Muncher Kammerspiele. It is really hard to believe that this director put on this anti-war performance so rarely, while our today world is full of conflicts and wars. The story takes place in ancient Troy during the seventh day of a state of siege. The performance exposes bad characteristics of ancient heroes and shows real history and politics.
Another event which is worth seeing is “Reisenbutsbach. The Colony” by Christopher Marthaler (October 16th, 17th) prepared for this year Wiener Festwochen and showed in Avignon in July.
“The Dialogue Festival” will give also opportunity to see spectacular Dutch theatres. Torneelgroep from Amsterdam will put on “Roman Tragedies” (October 14th and 15th), directed by Ivo van Hove, based on “Coriolanus”, “Julius Cesar” and “Antonius and Cleopatra”. This is a story about politics and manipulations of politicians.
