Rawa Blues Festival 2009
This year event, which will be started on the 10th of October in Spodek in Katowice can attract every fan of blues because of many world class music stars like Red Piazza & Mighty Flyers who has already won four W.C. Handy Awards for the best music group. The leader of the group – Rod Piazza is one of the most influential living musicians playing harmonica.
Eric Sardinas is believed to be the biggest rock man among all blues men, who is inspired by gospel, R’n’B and rock’n’roll. He is also famous for playing on six strings guitar.
Eden Brent is double laureate of Blues Music Award 2009 in two categories: the best acoustic artist of the year and the best acoustic album of the year. Her artistic work can be described as a natural synthesis of jazz, blues, soul and pop. Her own style and beautiful voice is unique thanks to 16 years trainings with Boogaloo Ames.
During the final concert, everyone will have opportunity to see Polish star – Shakin’ Dudi presenting special programme prepared as a part of celebration of 25th anniversary of his band.
Rawa Blues Festival is the biggest and the oldest blues festival in Poland. The event takes place in Katowice since 1981. Since 1992 the festival became an international festival showing the greatest stars of worldwide blues including Koko Taylor, Luther Allison, Junior Wells, Carey Bell, James Blood Umer, Nora Jean Burso and many others.
