Award for Polish film-maker
Innovative show including music, ballet and computer animation of Tomasz Bagiński was nominated to the most important awards connected with television industry, like 37th edition of Emmy Awards. “Seven Gates of Jerusalem” was recorded in November 2008, during the birthday concert of Krzysztof Penderecki in Warsaw.
Besides skilful dancers, there are many fantastic computer animations of Tomasz Bagiński, who is famous for creating well known animation “The Cathedral”. Penderecki’s works is a new challenge in his career, because of its development and complexity. Five voices, recite, choir connected with orchestra must be very attractive. Penderecki wrote it in 1996 because if 3000th anniversary of Jerusalem.
The film has won first price during this year Golden Prague in Czech Republic and was nominated during Rose d’Or in Switzerland and Rockie Prize in Canada. It will also take part in Japanese and British contests. This year Emmy Gala will take place on the 23rd of November in New York.
There were many Polish artists and film-makers nominated to this prestigious award, for example Andrzej Maleszka as a candidate for the best film for children (1997). He won the 1st prize in this category in 2007 (for programme “The magic Tree”). In 2006 another Pole was awarded. It was Marek Szyszko who was given the prize for “The Hippo Dance”.
