The bottle was found 1.5 m underground in a garden at Kościeleccy Square 6 in Bydgoszcz. There were 20 letters in the bottle from oranżada (traditional Polish juice). As it turned out, all letters contained many wishes, promises and resolutions of young children.

“I will never demolish my granny’s garden”, “I will not argue with my sister”, “I will be the best during our Scout camps”, could be seen on papers. Every letter contained similar information with many grammatical and spelling mistakes. “I do believe that the bottle is something unusual” – said Marzena Matkowska from the Centre of Culture and Art in Bydgoszcz. “We think that the bottle comes from 60’s. We do not know who and why wrote those wishes and buried this treasure. Maybe pupils from nearby school did it? But why did they bury the bottle here and not somewhere near the school?” – asked Matkowska.

“Children who wrote those wishes are adults today. Maybe it was a kind of New Year’s Eve or Advent resolution? We are not sure. I do believe that somebody buried it in order to find it after many years. Maybe it was important for those kids? This is a normal archaeological find so we must apply all needed procedures. This find may be priceless. We will try to find all owners of every letter what can be very difficult. Maybe we will be able to check if their wishes came true” – said Matkowska.
