Beatification of Priest Popiełuszko in one year?
It is possible that the chaplain of “Solidarity” will be beatified within several months. Priest Tomasz Kaczmarek said: “If the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life will be debating in November and give positive opinion about martyrdom of Jerzy Popiełuszko it is possible that the beatification process will be finished within several months”.
So priest Jerzy Popiełuszko may be beatified next year what is fantastic information for Polish people. The final and binding decision will be made by Pope Benedict XVIth, but the congregation may be very helpful and speed up the process.
On the 19th of November 2009 is 25th anniversary of kidnapping and killing the priest by officers of the secret police in communist Poland (SB). During this day, many Polish faithful will celebrate this tragic anniversary.
