The concert is going to be held in People's Hall (Hala Stulecia) on 24th November 2009.

Cesaria Evora is a cult figure of African folk music. She is called a "queen of morna". The artist is inspired by Cuban, Caribbean and Portuguese sources. However her attitude towards music is best described by herself: "I have had music in my heart since I was a child. Morna took over me and there is nothing else to say".

Cesaria Evora sings for poor and for rich, for tourists and sailors, for black and white people. She sings for her friends and for herself. She sings morns full of pain, loneliness and life struggle.

Ten albums, dozens of golden and platinum plates, millions of sold records, numerous Grammy nominations and Grammy 2004 for "Voz d'Amor" (Voice of love) album are among others on her long list of achievements.
