French radio about Poles and Poland
"Poles are the most antisemitic nation in Europe" - such words were said during a comedy broadcast on French radio Europe 1. Later on guests of this program started to argue if Lech Kaczyński was more antisemitic or antieuropean. Polish ambassador in France did not find it funny and he wrote an official protest - TVP Info reports.
It all started to quite innocently. Popular comedian Laurent Ruquier and his gusts mentioned the Chopin year in France. "I agree that Chopin composed great music, but he came to France to f**k Georges Sand and to kill Alfreda de Musset" - said one of the guests on the program.
Then it started. Poland was called the most anti-EU and antisemitic nation in Europe. Later on an argument if Lech Kaczyński as more antisemitic or antieuropean took place. At the end journalists on the radio said they were glad that not many Poles listened to them.
They had a bad luck, because Polish ambassador Tomasz Orłowski was informed about the content of this broadcast. He wrote a letter of complaint to Europe 1. "Jokes also have their borders' - he wrote.
He was given an apology by the broadcaster, but he was also informed that the program of Laurent Ruquier shall not and is not treated seriously by anyone.
