„Lot of Armenian people in Poland” – multimedia exhibition

Archival and today photos, memories, fragments of films and Armenian music can be found on multimedia exhibition titled “With a view to Ararat. Lot of Armenian people in Poland” that will be opened next Saturday in the History Meeting House in Warsaw.

According to organizers, it will be first ever exhibition about history, culture and daily life of Poles of Armenian origin and Armenian people living in Poland who care about their habits far away from their homes. The exhibition was prepared by the Culture and Heritage of Polish Armenians Foundation in cooperation with the History Meeting House in Warsaw.

The exhibitions shows Armenian people connected with Poland, especially merchants, craftsmen, landlords, priests and social workers. Some of them came to Poland in XVIth century. There can be seen XIXth century testament of Antonina Abgarowicz and intense relation of Arusiak Awadalin who had to escape from Armenia because of Turkish in 1915. There are also interesting memories about Armenians sent to Siberia or those who fought in the Army of General Anders.

All visitors will be able to see some pictures presenting the wedding ceremony in Armenian cathedral in Lvov, short documentary films from that time and 100 portraits of Zbigniew Kordys. Moreover everyone may have chance to hear traditional Armenian music by Armenian Navy Band.
