Outstanding Polish philosopher – Leszek Nowak is dead

Professor Leszek Nowak was one of most popular Polish philosophers, creator of idealistic theory of science and anti-Marxist historical materialism. The professor died in Poznan, he was 66.

Leszek Nowak was well known oppositionist of communist government in Poland. In middle 80’ Nowak started criticising Polish socialism so he was arrested many times. First one it was on the 13th of December 1981. Nowak wrote many fantastic works about philosophy, for example: “Basic information about Marxist methodology of science “(1971), “Basic of Marxist axiology” (1974) or “The Authority” (1983). Since 1994 the professor became a member of Polish Academy of Science.

In 1975 Leszek Nowak became the editor-in-chief of Poznan Studies in the Philosophy f the Science and Humanities. When he was 33 years old he became professor of university what underlines his huge intellectual knowledge.
