Rockets in Poland. "Russia is calm"
Russian media still comment a visit of US Vice-President Joe Biden to Poland. They highlight that "US guest had no problems convincing Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Lech Kaczyński to take parts of new US defense system." - reports government controlled "Niezawisimaja Gazieta".
The visit is also commented by other Russian daily "Rossijskaja Gazieta" that is considered to be also controlled by Kremlin. " Obama understood that G. W. Bush pushed the line too far by trying to build rocket silos in Poland. In the name of better cooperation with Russia Obama decided to abandon this controversial idea" - reported the daily.
The article highlights that Russia is not going to allow any rocket silos to be built in its neighborhood. It also undermines the idea of stationing SM -3 rocket launchers: "Pentagon still claims that they [rockets - ed.] are part of European defense system against potential Iranian rocket attack. However rockets that Iran has would not reach Poland even if they caught good wind over Black Sea".
