Polish football team has got new coach
Franciszek Smuda will be a coach of Polish football national team – informed well known Internet portal onet.pl.
According to the portal, Smuda was chosen during a convention of Polish Football Association, that took place today morning. 15 members of the board of directors voted for Sumda, while Stefan Majewski (current, acting coach) abstained from voting.
It means that Polish Football Association did not ignore all supporters who wanted Smuda. Stefan Majewski was not accepted by football fans who decided to boycott last official game of the national team so the stadium in Chorzów (45 thousand seats) was nearly empty. It seems that Grzegorz Lato, who is chair of the association, has seen the light of reason and good of Polish football is the most important for him.
Franiszek Smuda is very talented and experienced trainer who won many championship titles with Widzew or Wisła and had was very successful in European cups (Widzew in Champions League and Lech Poznań in Europa League).
There were many candidates for this important fro every Polish football supporter position, for example: Avram Grant, Alberto Zacherroni, Henryk Kasperczak or Piotr Nowak.
